Collages
I’ve been making collages since I was 16. Most of the time using National Geographic magazines, though I like to source my elements from many different places. Below are some of my favorite works, or you can find more here.

“Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls”
A two part set I made last year. These two are some of my favorite collages I’ve ever created. I love the way the colors complement each other and how smoothly the drinks line up with the waterfalls.

“The Computer Revolution Will Not Be Televised”
A chaotic piece meant to symbolize the constant overstimulation we can be faced with in a digital society. I made this in April of 2023.
“Bodysnatchers”
People often ask me what the meaning of this collage is but in full honesty, it has no deeper symbolism other than me just trying to make something look cool.
This project started with me collecting any photos of crosses or Jesus I came across in different magazines. I knew I wanted to use them in something but didn’t have a full idea of what until I found the page I used for the background in a random issue of National Geographic.
Once I put everything together, I was super happy (and mildly disturbed) with the results. There’s something so unsettling about this piece, which is exactly the feeling I was hoping to produce.

“Garden of Eatin”
I have such a love/hate relationship with this piece. I really like the colors and visual composition of it, and many people have identified it to me as one of their favorites in my entire portfolio.
Unfortunately, it is also such a pain to showcase anywhere. Due to how far the rabbits arm comes off of the page, it never quite looks right in a display, whether digital or in person. Despite my struggles I still manage to find a way to include it in most displays, as it is one of my best pieces.
“Who Are You?”
This is my only collage that doesn’t feature any elements from magazine clippings. Each piece was sourced online and printed out to fit a specific vision I had in mind instead of the piece being inspired by images I’ve found in magazines like my others. I’m particularly happy with how the bubbles turned out. To make those, I cut out circles of blank paper and drew overtop of them before layering them to achieve a 3-D effect.

“Home Sweet Home”
This was one of 2 collages I made in a tiny notebook as a challenge to try and cure some art block I was experiencing. Not only did it work, but I was really happy with the result of the exercise.

“Something Familiar”
This was my first attempt at incorporating elements other than magazine clippings into my collages. The figure in the center was drawn in pen, and the eyeballs were PNGs I found online and printed out.

“This Must Be The Place”
This was the first serious collage I ever made. I put it together on a whim in 10th grade art class, unknowingly awakening an obsession that would consume a large majority of my art classes thereafter.

“Cosmonauts”
Some elements of this piece are cut off due to poor scanning, nevertheless, I think it still looks pretty good. I remember spending a ridiculous amount of time in the school library trying to print the angel wings at the correct size to fit the bottles.
